Weeks 1 and 2: Audit

I read the code, the infrastructure, the backlog and the hiring plan. You get a written assessment: what is sound, what will hurt at scale, what to do first. No slideware.

Weeks 3 to 12: Operating cadence

A weekly rhythm agreed up front. Typically: architecture and delivery decisions as they arise, a standing weekly session with the founders, review of significant technical work, and hands-on direction of the engineering process.

Day 90: Decision point

You hold a technical roadmap and a delivery process that runs without me in the room. We continue on a retainer, taper, or stop. All three are fine outcomes.

AI-leveraged, engineer-led.

My delivery process uses AI heavily and admits it. Agents write much of the routine code under test-first discipline; senior judgement owns architecture, review and everything that touches production. The result is small-team output at a pace that used to need a department. I will happily show you the process itself; it is part of what you are buying.

What I will tell you honestly.

Some problems do not need a fractional CTO. If what you need is two contract developers, or a technical co-founder, or nothing at all yet, I will say so on the first call.
